An absurd fight against time, memory and representation dealing with physic power of sound.
The video Mimnemesis was realized following the discovering of a pipeline under construction along a German highway. I plays with a section measuring approximately a half-mile. Considering the speed of sound (about 769 mph or 340 m/s), an acoustic wave generated at one end of the pipe reaches the other end two seconds later. The pipe being closed at its ends, sounds are trapped inside, going back and forth between the two plastic caps until the wave’s power is lost.
