Title:
The Choice
2009, 2:15

“We have become aware that in the great game that is being played, we are the players as well as being the cards, and the stakes… What disconcerts the modern world at its very root is not being sure… that there is an outcome, a suitable outcome to evolution.” The human being is supposedly the most intelligent being in existence, yet we are also the most destructive, the most self-consumed, the greediest, etc. We have the ability to be the superior organism, but we have (as a whole) become the most inferior.
By using found footage collected from the internet, my work achieves a balance between unbelievable source material mixing it with my own real material and changing its meaning by placing it in a new context. Using found footage and investigating a video-saturated internet that hazily crosses the virtual and the real. I also like taking what is at hand and internet has become a very useful source to find material when my own video-making resources don’t match-up to the materials I need for a specific project.
